KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Manage work allocation to team based on their skill set and project timelines.
- Review & approve all drawings & BOM prepared by team in 3D and 2D CAD.
- Study customer specifications for mechanical design requirements and provide design support accordingly.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs for transformers for critical projects.
- Prepare drawings for internal connections of CCA.
- Compare BOMs with actual production to improve cost accuracy for future projects.
- Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of designs, including drawings and BOM’s.
- Address & resolve design-related NCs from shop floor or site. Develop corrective actions, implement solutions, and update processes to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular design reviews with the team to optimize design efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure manufacturability.
- Proactively study, interpret, and integrate new mechanical design standards such as IS, IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
- Work on new product development.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure materials meet design specifications.
- Prepare and continuously update a detailed Design Manual to establish and document design standards, best practices, and guidelines for the mechanical design team.
- Maintain and update mechanical design documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
- Train junior mechanical design engineers.
| EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: | Qualification (Must/Desirable): B.E. / B. Tech / M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering Experience: Must: Min. 10 years’ experience in designing of Power & Distribution Transformers up to 20 MVA, 66 KV Class. Desirable: Experience of Designing Solar IDT Transformers, Furnace Transformers, Pad Mount Transformers as per IEEE, Single Phase Pole Mount Transformers. |
