INDUSTRY TYPE: Transformer Manufacturing
LOCATION: MWC- Unit 5, Jaipur (Raj)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE
JOB:
To ensure effective In-process quality assurance of transformer
manufacturing activities by conducting inspections and testing as per
relevant standards, QAPs, and customer requirements, while driving
continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing
processes.
KEY RESULTS:
- Ensure availability of inspected and approved
materials/components as per the production plan. - Ensure defect-free product flow by conducting all in-process
inspections and tests as per applicable standards, QAPs, and
internal procedures. - Identify, report, and track non-conformities (NCs) and ensure
timely corrective actions. - Maintain testing facilities, equipment, and inspection areas in
proper condition to facilitate smooth customer and third-party
inspections. - Support implementation of quality improvement initiatives
across the shop floor. - Ensure Routine testing on Winding, Core Assembly, Core-Coil
Assembly is performed 100% (Winding Resistance, Continuity,
Core losses, Turn Ratio, MBT, Charging, 2kV HV test, IR and PI)
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Perform In-process inspections and testing during various
stages of transformer manufacturing as per applicable
standards, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and customer
specifications. - Monitor and manage non-conformities (NCs) through the FMS
and ensure proper closure through corrective actions. - Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action
Requests (CAR) related to in-process quality issues. - Ensure calibration, maintenance, and proper functioning of
inspection and testing equipment used at in-process and final
stages, including preventive maintenance as per checklist. - Maintain accurate records of inspection and test results in
accordance with IMS requirements and customer
specifications. - Provide inspection feedback and test data to QA Manager/
Senior Manager and Design Department for product design
validation and process improvement. - Participate in and coordinate customer stage inspections and
interact with customer representatives and third-party
inspection agencies. - Train and guide engineers, assistant engineers, and
technicians to improve technical capability and quality
awareness. - Monitor shop floor activities and ensure implementation of 5S
practices, Red Tag campaigns, and workplace discipline. - Participate in daily quality/kick-off meetings to align quality
requirements with production and marketing schedules. - Ensure compliance with safety standards and safe work
practices within the inspection area. - Review and implement customer QAP requirements related to
in-process inspection. - Provide suggestions and initiatives for improving product
quality, processes, and service standards.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualification (Must/Desirable): B. Tech / BE in Electrical Engineering
Experience: Min. years’ experience in Transformer: 6-10 Years,
preferably in In-Process Quality Assurance
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Strong understanding of transformer manufacturing processes
and quality standards
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis and implement
corrective actions
Effective communication and coordination skills
Strong process orientation and quality mindset
